Fake News, Misinformation & Disinformation

November 24 @ 12:30 pm 2:00 pm

Introduction:

The amount of fake news we see online seems to be increasing daily, and it is always not that obvious to spot the fake news, meaning a lot of people online still believe what they read and take it in as real news while it may be untruthful.

Fake news is a global problem, all the countries are suffering from this, we have had our fair share locally of false information that has been shared on social media, which has the potential of causing so much harm, to individuals, organization,s and the nation at large. Our main aim today is to have a discussion about fake news, how do we tackle this as a country, what are those fact-checking 101 skills and social media verification tactics we can do, and to also discuss the impacts and legal implications fake news may have.
